Except for the COVID-19 cancellations in 2021 and 2022, the ICHRY has been held annually since 2010 during January in a warm-weather climate in the Caribbean, Mexico, or Central America. The conference’s theme focuses on the Six Risk Behaviors of Youth as monitored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
At every ICHRY conference, health and wellness professionals share cutting-edge research findings, teaching techniques, and skill-building activities with a diverse audience of professionals who are all interested in the health and well-being of youth and young adults.

The conference schedule is very relaxed to allow time for sightseeing and relaxation in the host city.
The 12th Annual ICHRY will be January 4-7, 2023 at the Presidente InterContinental Cancun Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
Traditionally, a wide variety of health and wellness professionals attend ICHRY. Every ICHRY provides excellent opportunities for every career stage. At ICHRY, undergraduate and graduate students, early career professionals, established researchers and practitioners, and retired scholars share and discuss innovative work in a supportive, collegial environment. Attendees include, but are not limited to:

· K-12 public and private school health and physical educators
· School counselors
· School administrators
· Nutritionists/dieticians
· Social workers
· School administrators
· Anyone interested in the health and well-being of young people!
The headcount for the ICHRY has ranged from 35 to 70 participants with an average of approximately 45 attendees.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) and Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES®) Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECHs) are provided in the cost of registration.

Along with CEU's, registrants receive a light dinner/drinks (Wednesday night) and box lunches (Thursday and Saturday) following the completion of the sessions.
No, but most registrants do present at the conference as it is an excellent professional development opportunity. However, you are not required to be part of a presentation team to register and attend the conference.
